A new cosmetic surgery procedure has been developed by the British biomedical company Intercytex that may potentially revolutionize skin treatment.
The treatment is called Vavelta. It revitalizes damaged and aged skin by regenerating your skin cells. This is accomplished by injecting millions of new skin cells cultivated from babies’ foreskins into your damaged and worn out skin.
This procedure seems to have a distinct advantage over other injectables and fillers on the market, such as Botox. Whereas most of the injectables available today only last six months to a year, Vavelta seems to be permanent.
Vavelta is a clear liquid made out of a suspension of tiny skin cells, called fibroblasts. Small pieces of foreskin cells taken from circumcised babies are treated with an enzyme to create the fibroblasts.
Fibroblast cells help generate new collagen in your skin, which enables you to maintain a more youthful appearance. It generally takes about a month before the treatment takes effect.
So far, the results in Great Britain have been dramatic. Patients have been raving about the effectiveness of Vavelta. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is still evaluating Vavelta. Currently, it is not approved for use by cosmetic surgeons in the United States.
