More people underwent BOTOX® treatment than any other cosmetic surgery procedure last year, according to recent figures from the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS).
Out of the 15.7 million minimally invasive cosmetic surgery treatments in 2017, 7.23 million were BOTOX® injections.
Although 92% of all cosmetic surgery patients were female, both genders chose Botox over other procedures about 1/3 of the time.
This would come as no surprise to most plastic surgeons, as the average surgeon’s fee for BOTOX® was only $385. To put that into perspective, the price tag on a nose job was about $5,125, and the average tummy tuck would have set you back more than $5,992 in 2017.
In terms of how many years a cosmetic surgery procedure can take off of your appearance, BOTOX® seems to give more bang for the buck than other cosmetic surgery treatments.
As for procedures requiring surgery, most women opted for breast augmentation (300,000) with liposuction coming in second with 218,000. Men had 52,000 as many nose jobs, which is 20,000 more than the next closest procedure (blepharoplasty).
