Breast Lift Versus Breast Augmentation

If you're considering getting your breasts altered, you need to consider exactly how you want them to change. Do your breasts sag due to old age, or are they just not as firm and full as they were before you had children? With a breast lift, or mastopexy, the breasts are raised and reshaped without getting much firmer or larger. This is considered more of a rejuvenate procedure, and is generally more ethical among those with old-fashioned standards. In mastopexy, the nipple and areola are lifted to allow for excess skin to be removed from the lower breast. When the breast skin is re-closed, the breast tightens and lifts. Breast augmentation is more for those concerned with firmness or fullness, as the procedure involves an implant placed behind the breast tissue or chest wall muscle.

If you're considering a breast lift or breast augmentation procedure, contact a safe cosmetic surgeon such as Dr. Rosenburg of the Accent on Aesthetics Cosmetic Surgery Center in Sacramento, California.
